LARGE ROTARY UPS

Series XC (250kVA to 2000kVA)

The Series XC motor-generator set absorbs load harmonics and produces a pure sine-wave output, ideal for any critical load. By operating the rectifier/charger and inverter in series as the primary power path, the Series XC Hybrid™ UPS continuously tests its most critical components under actual operating conditions. There is no delay, no transients, no question when the utility source fails; transfer to battery and to alternate AC source is seamless. The reliability of those components to perform in a power outage is constantly being verified. By providing a physical air gap between the load and the utility source, the motor-generator set protects the critical load from high power transients, including lightning.

NO BREAK UPS

Series NB (30kVA to 2500KVA)

The Series NB combines proven power protection systems in one complete package. Standard systems are available from 30 to 2500 kVA, with voltages from 208 to 600 volts 50/60 Hz. Custom systems to 13,800 volts at 10,000 kW are available. The heart of the Series NB is the ride-thru motor-generator with enough rotational energy to protect the load while the Diesel comes on-line. The motor-generator, utilizing state-of-the-art controls with "brute force" mechanical energy storage will take raw electrical power from the local utility company and conditions it to computer grade electrical power. Should normal power fail, the Series NB will start-the back up engine generator and seamlessly provide continuous electrical power to the critical load.

  • 100% electrical isolation from all utility to load
  • 24 x 7 power conditioning
  • Back-up generator ready
  • “Batteryless” UPS
  • Touch screen interface
  • Tight voltage regulation, no load to full load during transition
  • Motor starting capability
  • Adjustable Ride-through times without starting diesel & elminates “nusance starts”
  • Engine generator operation to 8 hours or more (with diesel options)
  • 20 years plus service life
  • Single point contact for all service and maintenance
  • Lowest “part count” in the industry

RING BUS UPS

Ring Bus System

In its search for a fail safe power protection system that can expand with ever-growing computer loads, the giant railroad transportation center discovered the hybrid UPS could be configured in a "Ring Bus" to meet their special requirements.

The Ring Bus offers several distinct advantages over traditional paralleling schemes. Primary is the ability to have an expansion without AC power shutdown to the critical load during upgrade construction phases. Once the additional UPS modules and ring tie switchboards have been added, a four-hour window is needed to check paralleling capability during Ring Bus operations. No modification of existing equipment is necessary for expansion: new UPS modules and ring tie switchboards are "plugged" into the existing switchboard by using a bus duct raceway connected to a removable bus link. A Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) manages system operations and is configured for infinite expansion from two to three to four or more UPS modules. Additionally, the ring bus permits a site with multiple utility sources to keep the sources independent by its ability to run modules either in parallel or isolated modes facilitated by the use of multiple bypasses. This avoids the danger of any single point causing cascading system failure.

LIGHTING INVERTER

Series LI

The Series LI emergency lighting inverter system is a single phase, continuous duty, seamless transfer inverter. The Series LI is designed to supply reliable, isolated, clean, regulated emergency power for emergency lighting and associated controls. An efficient ferroresonant transformer, microprocessor controlled solid-state PWM inverter and long lasting battery pack provide immunity to all line disturbances and power interruptions with no break in AC output power. Power factor correction and harmonic attenuation are provided. The synchronous inverter produces a true uninterrupted output in any mode of operation. A self-diagnostic monitoring alarm system continuously advises system status.

PS&C has over 40 years vested in the development of power conditioning equipment and we always create the best solution for the task. Our Series LI comes with access to our “World Class Service Division” which gives our customers the type of support which is not only required today, but is mandatory for industry to continue to move on a daily basis.

LASER PROTECTION

Series LCP

The Series LCP module has been developed in order to protect the communication transmission between buildings and or stations with not only surge protection, but also an “on line” UPS module. This “harsh environment” unit has been designed in support of the “mission critical” customer for use around the world. PS&C Series LCP can operate in the most remote locations where in the input power move around from the single phase 120V numerous times within an hour. As an option, the Series LCP takes an input of (220 - 240) voltage at 50 or 60hz power and will deliver clean isolated 120 volt, single phase, 50hz or 60hz output. The standard output is achieved via 3 hospital grade duplex outlets and an isolated ground. The unit further protects the load by means of an input TVSS for the power and Ethernet/phone.

PS&C also equips the Series LCP with the capability of “Hot Start” directly from the battery in order to give the user a few minutes of power when no source is available.

  • All welded construction
  • Vibration stabilization under all individual components
  • 120 volt transient voltage surge suppression on input - with visual indication
  • Over/under output voltage protection
  • Recessed input, output and ground
  • Temperature sensor on battery
  • Wide input range
  • Auto restart
  • Air conditioning not required
  • Overload protection
  • Portable and mounted on casters
